At No 7 and No 16 St John Street you’ll find Highland Health Stores.
In 1986, John and Cherrie started the family business at No 7, and a few years later, No 16 came up for sale. It was purchased by the couple and turned into a Remedies and Body care shop so No 7 could be dedicated primarily to wholefoods. After retiring, their son, Darren took over the running of both shops alongside his wife Victoria.
“Our vision is to create and maintain a carbon-friendly, customer-focused, vegan and vegetarian-friendly business that has a place in the heart of the Perth community,” explained Victoria. Highland Health Store is best known for being a specialist independent retailer and their excellent customer care and product knowledge attracts customers from across the United Kingdom.
Building the businesses green credentials is very important to both Darren and Victoria, and they are doing this with the help of their team, Cheryl, Elaine, Margaret and Sandra. Although St John Street has changed dramatically and has presented lots of challenges over the years, it is still a very pretty street to trade from.
After using manual tills for many years, which led to too much human error and serving customers at a slow pace, Darren and Victoria started to look for an EPOS system. “We were looking for a good quality and easy to use system, which would make serving customers quicker and provide us with accurate data. Thanks to BIRA we found CSY!”
