Earlswood is a local family owned garden centre in Guernsey, Channel Islands. Over the years the business has expanded from specialising in plants & accessories into outdoor living, pets and lifestyle products including homewares, greetings cards, books, and clothing.
In 2011 we added a state of the art café which continues to be a hugely popular on the Island.
It was the building of the cafe which prompted us to install an epos system. Initially we chose a Torex system from another provider which served our needs for a while, but as our business continued to increase in complexity and size we needed something more flexible.
With an increased product range and stockholding we began to look for ways to measure more efficiently what was selling and what wasn't, as well as to automate processes like ordering and goods receiving. It was clear that neither Torex, nor the provider we were using were up to the job - that's when I went online and found CSY. From the outset I had good and frequent communication with our account manager who specialises in our sector. It was easy to find out what Vector was all about and to arrange a quick turnaround on installation.
Immediately we could do so much more and things we could do before we could now do much more quickly. Since installing the Vector package on our existing tills, and adding a couple more wifi handhelds, our ordering has speeded up, it's much quicker to check deliveries in and keeping a grip on the accuracy of our inventory and our shrink couldn't be easier with a very straightforward stocktaking facility.
One of the big pluses of switching to CSY was that they'd built and developed their system themselves. It wasn't an 'on the shelf' package they'd bought in. I was therefore confident they'd continue to listen, develop and improve their package and indeed they have - there are already some exciting new features planned which will help us continue to become more efficient.
